Turn the fantasy of Hollywood movies into the real journey to your Chinese Kung Fu Tour and be the master of Chinese Kung Fu!

Chinese Kung Fu is a precious treasure that belongs not only to China but to the whole world. We will take you to the cradle of Chinese Shaolin Kung Fu - the Shaolin Temple to enjoy rich humanities sight, antiquated natural sight, massive Shaolin Buddhist sculptures and a Wushu Culture, as well as an elegant & rare geological natural wonder. You will see power and grace combined in a demonstration of the art of Shaolin Kung fu by a Shaolin Master. Be transported to the mysterious world of this ancient art to experience for yourself what has inspired the great action heroes of today's movie blockbusters.

Shaolin Temple is located in the foothills of the Song Shan mountain range just fifteen minutes outside the town of Dengfeng, which is about two hours away from Zhengzhou, the provincial capital of Henan. Buses run from Zhengzhou and Luoyang, another larger Henan city, to Dengfeng. Alternatively, if you are staying in Zhengzhou or Luoyang, you can arrange a day tour from your hotel.

Most Westerners know Shaolin from martial arts movies - Shaolin Kung Fu was born here. In modern times, Chinese Kung-fu was first introduced abroad to the United States by Chinese-American Kung-fu master Bruce Lee, whose agile movements in a series of his great movies swept American audiences off their feet. Thanks to the giant influence of the American movie industry, it soon swept across the world. The entire globe was enchanted by the magic act, starting the upsurge of interest in Chinese Kung-fu. From then on, Chinese Kung-fu learners can be found everywhere. Now, Lees followers, Jacky Chan (Cheng Long) and Jet Lee (Li Lianjie) carry the baton pushing themselves to novel heights.

But it is more famous in Asia as the birthplace of the Zen Buddhism movement. Visitors come to Shaolin to study Kung Fu, meditate in the ancient surroundings or to enjoy an ancient historical place that is by all means, off the beaten path. For whatever reason you come, Shaolin Temple is worth a visit.

Shaolin Temple complex can be thought of as three major sights within the compound. You will enter through a main gateway where the tour buses park and you can purchase your entry tickets. This area has been refurbished to support hoards of tourists - there is a large plaza flanked by souvenir vendors on both sides.

Kung Fu Performance Hall: After you enter the complex, you will walk ten minutes or so to the Kung Fu performance hall. If you can manage getting there early in the morning, you'll see students of all ages practicing outside in the grassy fields next to the walkway. Kung Fu is famous for its vigorous, powerful, simple, unadorned, and unpredictable style. Its moves and tricks are short, simple and succinct as well as versatile. While fighting, the masters would advance and retreat simultaneously. They need only a small space to execute their style of fistfight described as "fighting along a single straight line. It's amazing!

Shaolin Temple: After the performance, you can take electric cars or walk another fifteen to twenty minutes to the temple itself. Shaolin Temple is set upon the mountainside. You'll enter at the bottom and make your way up through the multiple halls to the top. The first hall you will encounter is Devajara Hall (Hall of the Heavenly Kings). It is characterized by double eaves flanked behind by a Bell Tower (this tower holds a great bronze bell) and a Drum Tower (this tower holds an artistic drum). The hall gates are guarded by two colored clay figures of Vajras. Inside the hall are statues of the four Heavenly Kings, each standing divinely while holding his distinctive weapon. Then you come to the main hall of the temple, Mahavira Hall (Daxiongbaodian). The original was built in the Jin Dynasty but destroyed in 1928. The present structure was restored from the original in 1986. Enshrined in the middle of the hall are the statues of the Trinity Buddha - Sakyamuni, Amitabha (Emitofo) and Bhaisajyaguru (Yaoshifo, God of Medicine). Flanking the Trinity on both sides are eighteen Arhats. Go on and you will see the Sutra-Keeping Pavilion where Buddhist dignitaries lectured. A total of 5480 Buddhist sutras and rubbings are kept in the pavilion and the Hall of Abbot (Fangzhang Hall). This small hall is the rest place for the abbots.

The Pagoda Forest: Another half-kilometer walk through a wooded path will bring you to the Pagoda Forest where there are nearly 250 stone and brick pagodas ranging from the Tang, Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties (618-1911).

You can come here to study Kung Fu, meditate in the ancient surroundings or to enjoy an ancient historical place that is by all means, off the beaten path. For whatever reason you come, Shaolin Temple is worth a visit.

Sun Peaks Icewine Festival - A Wine Masters Dream

How Does Icewine Differ From Other Wines?

Icewine is unique from other wines and spirits not only in taste, but also in its process of manufacture. The grapes in icewine are frozen on the vine in a temperature of approximately -8 degrees Celsius (17 °F) for about 36 hours before they are harvested and fermented. This is a very sensitive step in the production of icewine; if the grapes do not freeze fast enough, they could decompose. However, if the grapes become too frozen, juice cannot be extracted.

The renowned sweetness of the wine is dependent on the freezing process of the grapes. If executed correctly, the sugars and other dissolved solids in the grapes do not freeze, but the water does; this results in a more concentrated and sweeter tasting wine. Since the process of production is extremely complicated and laborious, icewine takes longer to manufacture, is more expensive and sold in smaller amounts than regular table wine.

Sun Peaks Icewine Festival

Sun Peaks Resort has hosted the Icewine Festival annually since 1998. Held typically in January, this 5 day affair was developed to attract guests to the resort after the holiday period. Since the beginning, the festival has proved to be a remarkable success attracting crowds of enthusiastic wine tasters and connoisseurs each year.

Since the event platforms icewines from the BC's top Okanagan wineries, it provides an excellent opportunity for local wineries to introduce their product and promote their business. Dairy Farmers of Canada are also often present at the wine festival hosting some of their own events. Guests can indulge in a variety of Aged Goudas, Blue Cheese and more while strolling throughout Sun Peaks village tasting icewine and other treats.

Past Icewine Festival agendas have included events such as:

Sun Peaks Wine & Dine
Taste of Sun Peaks
Al You Need is Cheese... for Dessert

Tips to Plan a Perfect Holiday

If you want to have a fun-filled vacation, you need to have plans. Here are the steps that you ought to take before heading for a vacation:

1. Determine where you want to go

It is always nice to discuss with the people whom you're going to spend vacation with concerning the place where you want to go. List down all suggestions and choose the best destination by way of voting. Include in your discussion all possibilities like the accessibility of the place, its security and distance.

2. Do some research about your destination

Going to places that you do not know what to expect is risky and dangerous. Always consider research as a standard operating procedure when planning a vacation, whether near or far. It will be easier for you to plan your vacation if you have an idea what the place has in store for you.

3. Get hold of a map

The map is an important piece that you've got to have for you to be able to make travel time estimates and an itinerary. This will also help you see the distances of one landmark to another. A lot of time will be saved if you have a well planned itinerary. If you can't get hold of a typical map, Google Earth can help you determine distances and landmarks.

4. Know the different modes of transportation of the place

Know the fastest or even the cheapest way to get to the different places listed in your itinerary. Like, for instance, when you're planning to have a vacation in Europe, you can take the train, be it short or long distance trips. Trains are not only cheaper, but you will also get to see many amazing views. But if you have a big budget and you don't want to spend most of your time on the road, you may ride on a plane for long distance trips. The view hundreds of feet above land is even more heavenly.

5. Plan where to stay

This is the step that sometimes needs no adept planning. Why? It is because you might not have enough time thinking of it when you're already busy roaming around the city or the country. Instead of checking-in in a hotel, why don't you just spend the night inside the bus or train and have a good night sleep while you're on your way to your next destination? This way, you will save a lot of your time and money.

Disney World As a Honeymoon Destination

Most people think of Disney World as a place to take the kids, but more and more newlywed couples are discovering that the Happiest Place on Earth is also a wonderful place to celebrate your honeymoon.

Affording a Disney World Honeymoon

It isn't always cheap to stay at Disney World, but even so, it's lower cost than going on a cruise or heading somewhere like Fiji. If you can't afford the vacation on your own, why not set up a honeymoon registry where guests can donate to a honeymoon fund or even specify where they want money to go (toward a hotel room, park tickets, meals, etc.). Even if you don't raise the full amount, this can be a great way to lower the cost of such a delightful vacation.

Where to Stay

There's really nothing as luxurious or romantic as staying in a major Disney resort. While many of the hotels located on Disney property are aimed at children, you'll find that the Animal Kingdom Lodge is the perfect place for a happy couple. Book a room overlooking the savannahs where you can see giraffes wandering outside your window in the morning for a truly romantic getaway.

What to Do

Disney World isn't short on activities for adults. For a great honeymoon, look at doing more than just jumping on your favorite roller coasters! An afternoon at the spa could be just the thing to relax and prepare for a romantic evening after a day in the parks. Enjoy a massage, facial or even a pedicure for women. This offers couples a little alone time - something that is necessary, even in newlywed bliss.

Disney often features special shows by Cirque du Soleil and other famous acts that make the perfect evening activity. Book ahead, though, since these tickets tend to go quickly. You can find out ahead of time which shows will be on while you are there. Within the parks, there are often evening parades and light shows, as well, that can be fun to catch and the perfect opportunity for a little cuddling in the chill of the evening.

Most visitors to the parks assume that you need to visit the parks every day, but this certainly isn't required. It can be lovely to take a day to rent bikes and cycle around the enormous property or play a round of golf, if you are into it. Another option is to go swimming in the resort's pool, or just relax in the hot tub together.

There are plenty of grown up attractions at the parks to enjoy together. From the safari in the African section of the Animal Kingdom to visiting countries around the Pavilion, you'll find more than enough non-kiddy rides and attractions to keep any couple busy.

At night, if you are in the mood to party, you can hit one of the two nightclubs on the Disney property and dine in one of dozens of amazing restaurants in Downtown Disney or Disney's Boardwalk. The fine dining options are many and ensure that you'll have a great experience while celebrating your honeymoon.

Be sure to take things slowly, chances are you won't want to be involved in a whirlwind of activities throughout your entire honeymoon. It's good to schedule in some relaxation time, as well, where you can be together, just the two of you and enjoy the fact that you are now a married couple. It's something that many people forget in their rush to enjoy a Disney World Theme honeymoon but you'll enjoy it far more if you leave some down time in the schedule.

Squaw Valley Ski Destination

Congratulation if you're thinking of taking your next ski vacation to this amazing ski destination. The resort itself is on the biggest and most high concept ski resorts in the continental United States. Being the Second largest ski area at Lake Tahoe, besides Heavenly resort it was the site of the 1960 Winter Ski Olympics.

Because of Squaw Valley's high concept and state of the art facilities and services it remains one of the most popular resorts in the United States. The ski area attracts an amazing six hundred thousands skiers a year. The best time to hit the slopes at this resort is around mid November to late May

The Resort itself is nested in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, and has a spread across 6 peaks. Because of the ski areas granite-laden terrain and fantastic vertical change the resort is a nerve center for big mountain steep skiing.

The base elevation of the resort is 6,200 feet and a top elevation of 9,050 feet. There is a respectable even compared to big resorts like Vail and Blackcomb of 4,00 acres of terrain. This terrain is accessible by an impressive 177 ski trails. The longest of which is the Mountain Run at 3.2 miles. The lift system as I mentioned before is state of the art with and astounding 33 lifts. And with an annual snowfall of nearly 450 inches of fresh powder there is now lack of fresh tracks for all.

Last but not least if you do decide Squaw Valley is for you remember to enjoy yourself and relax. Skiing is meant to be fun and there is no better ways to spend you're hard earned time off than hitting the slopes!

Sierra Tahoe Skiing Resort Information

Well some good news is that Sierra Tahoe resorts are some of the closest up the I-50 from Sacramento making national and international travel much more accessible. Most of the resorts average around 150 inches of snowfall a year, so expect plenty of snow for all the amazing terrain you'll encounter. The Tahoe region offers an assortment of runs for everyone from beginners to experts so there is something for everyone.

Sierra Tahoe ski area is a snowboarding and skiing destination in the area of Twin Bridges, California just to the south of lake Tahoe. The Resorts are about 16 miles south of the Stateline of Nevada on Highway 50. All the resort is contained in the Eldorado National Forest.

The majority of the ski resorts I have provided information on below are on the northern end of the lake around Truckee, California and Reno, Nevada. The exception for the Sierra Tahoe resorts would be Kirkwood, Heavenly, and Sierra-at-Tahoe which are located on the southern side of the lake about 75 miles from Reno Nevada. It's actually very common for skiers to stay around these three resorts when staying in the southern part of the lake and not make the trek to the northern lake resorts like Squaw Valley, Northstar, and sugar Bowl amongst others.

Golfing Breaks in France

There are many different types of sports holidays out there that you are able to go on in practically any country in the world, one of the big sports that have good holidays is golf. So many people the world over enjoy this great game and it is only natural that people are going to want to travel the world to find the best course to play. One of the best I have found is to go on golf holidays in France.

The best thing about golf holidays in France is that it is situated in a country which has so many heavenly locations based around the whole country. You are always going to be able to find a brilliant course in a fantastic location each time. Another great thing about golf holidays in France is that if you go to certain resorts they offer so many different things so that even if your family or whoever you are taking along with you (if you not going on your own) does not like golf then there are going to be many different other activities for them to get on with so that you can enjoy your game of golf with no nagging.

Another fantastic part of golf holidays in France is that you do not even need to know how to play this fantastic game because you can have lessons out there and see if you are going to be the next Tiger Woods. Many different resorts have different kinds of facilities and training programmes to help you learn golf including putting greens, driving range and even courses for people at all kinds of abilities.

Golf holidays in France will usually have driving ranges where you can go and hit balls as far and as well as you can. You will go into one of the many bays which are situated next to each other and then you can choose your clubs and hit as many balls as you want. This is good practise for you to work on your swing and your shots. It also saves you walking after your balls if that is the part of gold that you do not like (if there is any part you do not like).

If you would just like to get up to scratch on your putting skills then golf holidays in France will more than likely have a putting green where you can put the ball at the hole from anywhere on the green that you like. This is great to improve your game.

Also many different resorts have small holes where you are able to play a short course and practise chip shots along with putting as well. So if you want to improve any part of your golfing game or just learn how to play the game, golf holidays in France is probably one of the best ideas you will have. Most resorts are very friendly and also to boot they aren't even that expensive. You can find cheap golf holidays looking online or through catalogues which some resorts offer and you can find them in most travel agents.

On the runway: snowboarding dream holiday

The Thrill of Snowboarding

Even those who don't like the cold, but love the thrill of physical activity, have found joy in snowboarding. No matter where in the world you live, there is a dreamy snowboarding location nearby. Before you plan your next vacation, you may want to consider the condition of the slopes.

Snowboarding Resorts

The nation is peppered with resorts that offer snowboarding lessons, to suit any vacation plan. You'll find snowboarding resorts in states across the US, if you know where to look. In Canada, Lake Louise and Whistler are two highly popular spots for snowboarding and snowboarding lessons. California's Squaw Valley is a great, dreamy snowboarding vacation resort for those wishing to learn the craft of snowboarding. Sun Valley in Idaho, and Moonlight Basin in Montana are popular Rocky Mountain snowboarding vacation destinations.

In Nevada, Heavenly is the best resort for snowboarding, and Jackson Hole is where you want to go if Wyoming is the state of your choice. If the resort you choose features snowboarding, there will be a bevy of other winter sports to enjoy as well. Amid lush mountain scenery and crisp white snow, you may discover that snowboarding is the answer to your dream vacation.

For snowboarding, you can hardly do better than the beautiful peaks of Utah.

Unless, of course, you go to Colorado. The US capital of winter resorts, Colorado is known for their famous resorts...and their beautiful snow. No matter what winter activity you want to exercise, this is one of the best places to go. Aspen is probably a good thing for Colorado Ski and Snowboard known hotspots. Other Colorado vacation locales include Snowmass, Copper Mountain, Crested Butte, Keystone, Breckenridge, Telluride, Steamboat Springs, Vail, Beaver Creek and Winter Park.

A dream vacation snowboard

For the perfect snowboarding vacation, location is important. But the willingness to try something new is also a must when it comes tosnowboarding. Snowboarding is a sport that can be very thrilling and exciting, but also dangerous - so be sure to have all the right gear and take all the proper precautions. Inexperienced snowboarders should receive instruction from experts for safety's sake. With proper instruction, snowboarding can be one of the greatest life experiences. A snowboarding vacation is not just a trip to a snowy land, but a true adventure.

Consider where you will go, and be sure to take all the equipment and gear you need for your dreamy snowboarding vacation. Proper planning is a must, so try to leave snowboarding lessons pre-arranged if they are needed. Once you get to your snowboarding vacation destination, you don't want to waste any time. You want to get out there and hit the slopes right away, and get boarding out in the snow. So get everything ready beforehand, to get your dreamy snowboarding vacation off and running right away.

If you're planning a snowboarding vacation, then you're in for a lot of fun and excitement. Remember to stay safe, your dreamy snowboarding vacation will be a dream come true.

Ski Area You Can Ski Year Round

Are you one of those people who heads out to your local ski area until the rocks are beginning to show through the slush? You just can't get enough powder and skiing during those few months in the winter. You are in luck. The National Geographic Adventure magazine of December 2005/January 2006 gives those die hard skiers some ski area options for year round slopes. If you have the money and the time, you can hop from ski area to area and visit a few different continents to get your snow fix. If you don't have a lot of money, you can pick a ski area that will take the sting off of the summer drought of skiing.

From December to February, head to the Italian Alps and Sestriere, Italy where the prices are very reasonable and the skiing is great. You may recognize this as one of the spots where events were held for the 2006 Olympics in Torino. This ski area has six resorts that are all connected with around 250 miles of trails.

Once March to May hits, many of the ski area spots in the Northern Hemisphere are beginning to close. The Heavenly Mountain Ski Resort is a smaller, less crowded area than its bigger and busier neighbors to either side: Kirkwood and Squaw Valley. The slopes are very steep and challenging and you will find the slush bowl in May a fun way to spend the day watching people.

Over the summer months, when the snow is long gone in your favorite ski area, you can head up to Canada or down to Chile and find skiing happiness. The Blackstone, British Columbia area boasts the Whistler ski area, which is one of the most famous in the world. Not only will skiers find great powder, and miles and miles of trails, snowboarders, bikers and bungee jumpers can find something to appeal to them here as well.

In Portillo, Chile, you will find a rustic ski town without a lot of the perks of some of the fancier ski resort towns. But if you want skiing bliss at its best and simplest this may just be what you are looking for. They do have one 7,000 foot run and miles of other trails.

Finally, back in the U.S. for the first skiing of the new season, you can head to Wolf Creek Colorado. They have the highest annual snowfall in Colorado and 500 acres of trails and 6 lifts.

So, take a trip (or a few) and feed your need to ski year round.

Greer, Arizona - Heaven Nestled in a Mountain Valley

At an elevation of 8500 feet, the air is clearer in Greer, the Pine trees taller and the meadows greener. Founded in 1879, Greer was named after its leading citizen, Americus Vespucius Greer. No matter what the name, Greer is a bit of heaven on Earth.

A four hour drive from Phoenix, mostly on divided highways, takes you through the rustic town of Payson, the Rim Country, through Show Low and Lakeside-Pinetop. The turnoff to Greer, Route 373, is about eight miles past Sunrise ski resort. The road slopes gently down to the village of Greer, snuggled in a valley, surrounded by towering pine, quaking aspens, and tranquility.

Take a deep breath of pine scented cool mountain air and worries just melt.

Guests at The Red Setter Inn, an award winning bed and breakfast, are greeted by a profusion of columbine, day lilies, yarrow, larkspur and Marguerite daisies. The lodge's living room is comfortably furnished with a combination of English hunting and old west. It sounds at odds but comes together beautifully. The downstairs play room is just that, with every imaginable old fashioned game to play and a wide selection of movies.

The second floor of the lodge is surrounded with a wood deck, overlooking the Little Colorado River. The pristine ten acre property is dotted with wooden chairs, lounges and swings, perfect for enjoying a cold drink and a good book. Each of the nine rooms has its own attraction: Number 1 boasts a private entry, Number 4 has its own deck, Room 9 has a gas fireplace. For those wishing a more private experience there are three stand alone cabins on the property as well.

Breakfast, served in the dining room, is a gourmet experience. One morning, a warm raspberry crumpet with whipped cream is followed by a fresh fruit compote, and an asparagus frittata. Juice, hot coffee, tea and cocoa are available not only at breakfast but all day. A complimentary sack lunch is prepared for those who want to explore the area.

The Red Setter Inn is for grownups and ideal for couples. Guests must be 16 or older.

If the trip is a family affair, Antler Ridge cabins welcomes pets and children. Fully equipped house keeping two bedroom cabins with a wood burning fireplace, supplied with complimentary wood, are scattered over the spacious grounds with plenty of room for the kids to play. The bedrooms are small as is the one bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped. The living area has room for a full size sofa and two large chairs as well as dining table and chairs. A playground and a private catch and release pond provide additional activities. Two ranch houses, which sleep up to 16, are available for larger groups.

Greer Lodge offers housekeeping cabins as well. The luxuriously appointed rooms in the main lodge are adults only. 373 Grill, the on site restaurant and lounge, is family friendly and cowboy comfortable. Nearly every table has a breath taking view of the valley and the mountains behind. The wine list is moderate in both price and offerings. The house wine, a decent chardonnay, comes in a souvenir bottle. The menu offers the usual steak, hamburgers, and ribs. The baby back ribs are succulent; peppy but not overly spicy and served with an extensive choice of sides including a huge portion of crunchy onion rings.

Looking for an upscale experience for families and couples? You'll find it at The Peaks. The lodge has gone through a major renovation and all the rooms have recently been refurbished. Several of the suites, generously sized to fit a family of four, come with Jacuzzis and fireplaces. Spectacular views await from every window.

La Ventana, the on site restaurant, offers a candlelit dining room, washed in pale desert colors. The ambiance is elegant but not stuffy. Diners munch on complimentary crunchy bread served with a dipping sauce of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, herbs and Parmesan cheese. Appetizers include a roasted tomato soup with a hint of basil. The creamy broth is textured with bits of onion and fresh tomato. The salad of baby greens and candied walnuts is tossed with a tangy raspberry vinaigrette dressing. The rib eye is seared on the outside, tender and perfectly seasoned.

Not to be missed are the pancakes at the Rendezvous Diner, swimming in melted butter and syrup, accompanied by smoky crisp bacon, and a never empty cup of coffee. Your day will get off to a great start. Molly Butler Lodge offers lunch baskets during the summer months, try their sour dough burger, after a morning of hiking.

Grocery and sundry items can be picked up at the Tin Star Trading Post. Along with a cup of special blend coffee, visitors can peruse the fused glass jewelry offered by a local artisan along with Hopi, Zuni, Cherokee and other Native American silver jewelry pieces. Curios, tee-shirts, and some antiques can be found at The Quaker Barrel. The shop looks tiny from the outside but that's deceiving. There are actually two levels and five rooms chock full of fun and curiosities.

There are hiking trails throughout the area in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. The Government Springs trail isn't an official Forest Service Trail but it's an easy walk along the west fork of the Little Colorado. Just go down Main Street until it dead ends in a parking lot on National Forest Land and you're at the right place. Take a lunch, the trail is scattered with perfect picnic spots.

Fishing is a favorite pastime in the three major lakes at Greer: Bunch Reservoir, Tunnel Reservoir and River Reservoir. River Reservoir is the largest at approximately 120 acres. Located one mile north of Greer, off FS 245, River Reservoir produced one of the largest brown trout in the state of Arizona. Big Lake, about eight miles from Greer, is stocked with 30,000 rainbow and brown trout every spring and at 400 acres is the largest lake in the area. An Arizona fishing license is required for anyone over 14 years old.

Need a little more excitement? Try the ski lift chair at Sunrise Park Resort. The chair lift runs every weekend and holiday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm beginning Memorial Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Mountain bikers can use the lift to get their bikes to the top of the ski runs.

Whether hiking, fishing, or just snoozing in the dappled shade of the tall pines is your idea of a heavenly respite, you'll find it in Greer, Arizona.

Directions to Greer: State Hwy. 87 north to Payson. From Payson, take State Hwy. 260 east following the Mogollon Rim to Show Low. At Show Low, continue on Hwy. 260 through Pinetop-Lakeside and McNary. Go past the Sunrise Park Resort road (Hwy 273) to Hwy 373. Greer is just down the road.

Rubber Flooring and Why Quality Sports Flooring Matters

Like shoes, the surfaces below our feet greatly affect the level of comfort or discomfort we may experience while moving across them. Similarly, choosing quality flooring is just as important as choosing comfortable shoes-particularly if the area is used for sports and high-traffic activities.

Sports flooring varies greatly and has many benefits for both the protection of a facility's floors and the people that visit and make use of the facility. Rubber flooring such as gym mats and rubber flooring tiles is a good choice for areas that sustain high amounts of stress like locker rooms and ice rinks. Installing rubber floor tiles will protect surfaces from sharp and potentially damaging athletic footwear and equipment.

The installation of gym mats in weight rooms, health clubs and locker rooms should not be overlooked either. Not only will sports flooring protect a facility's surfaces, it will also absorb shock and sound. In a room full of heavy and noisy weights and equipment, rubber gym mats will make a huge difference. Additionally, adequate sports flooring in fitness and athletic buildings will reduce the amount of sports-related injuries and will minimize joint stress.

Home sports flooring should also be considered for personal exercise areas and children's play areas. There are many economical and easy to install options available that will more than make up for the costs. Rubber flooring can also be used in pro shops, large gymnasiums or auditoriums, and commercial spaces. Many rubber flooring tiles and gym mats are aesthetically appealing as well as highly utilitarian.

When choosing sports flooring, there are several factors to consider. First you must decide whether you need gym mats for isolated areas or wall-to-wall rubber flooring. For home gym flooring, purchasing smaller gym mats for weight areas may be sufficient to cover only the high-stress areas. However, if your personal fitness area is in a basement, installing rubber flooring is a great way to prevent moisture and avoid cold surfaces. For commercial and public athletic facilities, the installation of complete sports flooring is recommended. Rubber flooring will portray a professional look and will facilitate the cleaning and maintenance of a large surface.

Rubber tiles that do not require adhesive is the easiest type of sports flooring to install. Tiles with interlocking edges are best in order to avoid gaps, and materials include both virgin-based rubber and recycled rubber. Advancements in polymer technologies have resulted in recycled rubber products that perform just as well as virgin-based rubber products. Depending on the use, varying thicknesses are available for different levels of sound and shock absorbency.

The alternative to rubber tiles, rolled rubber flooring, is also offered in a variety of thicknesses and colors and is typically less expensive. One downside to this option, however, is that glue or some kind of adhesive is usually necessary for installation.

Whether you are designing a fitness center or simply equipping your own home gym, investing in the appropriate sports flooring is essential. Rubber flooring and gym mats are durable and easy to maintain flooring solutions that will provide protection and aesthetic appeal.
